| I think, on the subject of Jaster looking like Jango, that since Concord Dawn is a small frontier world then it could be likely the settlers made an ethnic type of it's own through relative isolation. Jango and Jaster both have brown eyes, dark hair and similarily tanned skin but other than that they're not that alike - and both hail from Concord Dawn. Montross wasn't a Death Watchman, he was in Jaster's lot but was a coward. Do we know Jango's fathers name? Could be Boba. Too lazy to directly quote. |

Naturally, when the new trilogy came out and we find out that Boba Fett is a clone, the character's background was altered.
So everyone's pissed about it. I believe somewhere it was written that Boba Fett was known as Jaster Mereel before he was known as Boba Fett, and fans were mad when in Attack of the Clones, Jango calls his son "Boba Fett." But it would make so much sense if Jango called his son Jaster Mereel after his mentor in Open Seasons!
I guess we can't expect Lucas to know everything about the EU. That would be an impossible feat. But it would be nice if he would listen when someone who's accumulating money for him made a great tie-in for EU stuff. Open Seasons was written around the time of Attack of the Clones anyway!
What George should do with his disgusting amounts of money is hire an EU expert to help him keep track of everything. Maybe he'll hire one of us. |
They have EU experts, everything has to go through an approval process.....now. Back when Empire was coming out and the phenom was starting, EU was only unauthorized fanfic with no realy means of getting out aside from dank basement round tables. You're also going from Boba 10 to Boba 34-36ish, mind you I'm only talking about the movies. Everything else exists only if Lucas says so. As for why calling him Boba Fett in Episode II that's easy...that's his name! Why would any parent give thier kid another name other than the family name?? Family names are important to any culture. I remember reading the Jaster theory back when I was middle school some 15 years ago. Or reading the first certified EU book in high school. At this time. there are only TWO sources outside of the movies that are considered 'in-cannon' Shadows of the Empire, and The Force Unleashed...neither are really helpful in this topic. |

| Im researching Jaster as im working on a Jaster costume, its very simple guys, Jaster saved Jango from a Mando attach on his homestead, after Jesters death, Jango used Jasters name as an alias and even named his ship, which was Jasters, Jasters Legacy, Boba followed Jangos use of Jasters name as an alias which gave rise to the belief that Jaster was still alive. So in short, Boba was always Boba, he just used Jaster as an alias |

thats the reworking justification to make sense of it all, however at the individual time of publishing they where just inconsistant. |
