| Because Wookieepedia doesn't have much info on them and I know you guys will. I was (finally) playing Bastion's Star Wars RPG again yesterday, and (hooray, finally!) got the chance to have my Zabrak Mando go back home so she could figure out why other Mandos kept looking at her funny in bars; oh, and on the way, ended up with an entourage of twelve black and red armored Mando escorts. At least one of them even had neat armor that changed to a more subtle green at the touch of a button! Anyhow, when she got home, she asked her grandparents what the hell was going on, and it was revealed that her parents were-- drumroll please-- Death Watch members! And that her entourage was there to watch her and see if she were fit to join, as well. I only know the barest bit of them from what I read in RepCom; and that's only that other Mandos don't like 'em 'cause they're crazy, and Ghez Hokan liked his job too much and was too crazy, even for them, so they had to kick him out. And such it is that I come to you, ner vode. Enlighten me on the inner workings of the Death Watch, so I can figure just how thrilled or appalled Kasi should be to realize she might be welcomed into their group! |

| I'm not familiar with the Death Watch apart from what I read in Open Season comics. I just know they use a slightly different armor design and their logo looks like an imperial shuttle with its wings folded up. To me they seem more like a hardcore group of mercenaries that wear armor and they don't follow any strict moral code. It's indeed an interesting perspective to take as it seems these days that regular Mandalorians aren't bad ass anymore |

| Yeah, that's about what I've got...'cept in a more concise manner of terms that I can actually reference and relay to others. And it does sure as hell seem that Mandos are well on their way to goin' the way of the hippies...not sure if I feel it's a shame, or appreciate that they're going through a collective character development. Everything else in the gorram 'verse seems to be one way or the other; planets, civilizations, religions--I mean, the Force. ;P |

| It's due to the fact that we all sit in our own perspective and only look at things from a certain point of view that makes everything either good or evil. That's generally speaking and if you want to be talking in the absolute.
But that's not the debate here. I really wish there was more to the Death Watch than we know so far so maybe that's an opening for creativity. |

| I once made a Death Watch type character, I essentially just made him far more ruthless and clinical uncaring of others around him so in a sense more badass yea, but that's not saying mando's are not bad ass they care for their own so they have a comradeship and are badass to everyone else. Death Watch in my opinion are badass to everyone and have issues...alooot of issues, from some other star wars sources I remember them as being the ones wanting to relive the glory days back during pre jedi civil war era etc. So in reality I think they're an offshoot of the mandalorian mainstream 'extremists' I dare say.
Well hope that helps, I'm thinking of actually doing some further research into it as you've given me inspiration of sorts lol. If I find some more 'concrete' info I'll be sure to post it up for you! |

| The death watch started when Jaster wrote his codex. Jaster thought the Mandalorians should be more honor bound in their work/wars. Vizla thought that the Mandalorians should stay more like the Mandalorians of old, killing everyone and anyone despite their skill, age, or gender. This conflict led Vizla to split from the Mandalorians taking other like minded members with him and forming the death watch.
The two sides began to fight which became known as the Mandalorian civil war. In time they orphaned Jango Fett, who was then adopted by Jaster. They later killed Jaster himself which turned around as Jango killed most of them for revenge and they vanished for some time.
around 1 ABY remnants of the death watch where found in a bunker on endor that was used to make Mandalorian armor. The new overload was Teti Viba who was killed (by players of the mmo star wars galaxies).
The newer DW have "sub-organizations" based on armor color , Wraiths wore white, ghosts grey, and bloodguard a blood red.
They where also somehow aligned with the Black sun
known members of course can be found on wiki: Epo Areur Rarckokoo Athaichoso Fenri Dalso Weno Deowasoac Ghez Hokan (discharged) A-Op Igi Klin Nif Rageon Vart Teti Viba Oorkes Vilaz Vizsla (leader)
as far as i know thats about it, hope it helps
(the Vizsla time frame info comes from the open season comics, the Teti Viba info is game content from the mmo star wars galaxies) |

| also as far as appearance goes, most people think the Death Watch have their own special horned helmets: My personal thought is that was something that Vizslas gang did, probably even before they became Deathwatch. Many Many Mandalorians have custom looks to their helmets and I simply think this one was coined death watch. Later Death watch worn standard looking Mandalorian armor: and if you actually manage to get some of it in the game (i have about 12 suits lol) you see its named "Mandalorian Armor". So long story short I think they look just normal Mandalorians. |

| During the Clone Wars, most of the remaining Death Watchmen remained in hiding while 12 joined Spar, aka Mandalore the Resurrector, in fighting for the Separatists.
Also of note, their vaguely W shaped symbol is described in Imperial Commando as being a stylized shriek-hawk mid-dive. |

| Shiny! Thanks, guys. I'll have to talk to Bastion a bit to see what all his Death Watch group has as far as rules and the like, or what they are against doing or will shun you for, etc., but I'm pretty sure it'll follow the basics gathered here...now, to consult with my Mando and see how she feels about them. |

| Hmmm... well that could create a slight problem due to the fact that, as has already been mentioned the death watch weren't formed until quite some time after that... |

| Well...yeah. ^_^' But it's Bastion's campaign (and mostly for fun--this isn't the first out-there thing that's happened, you should see what the sullustan keeps doing XD), so it's "Death Watch equivalent," if you wanna get technical about it. I went with just sticking to asking about the Death Watch itself because we don't have any other threads about them, and I was curious, so...two birds with one stone. |
