So I'm currently in SW D20 game in which my character is buying a ship. As this thread's title suggests, I'm trying to think of a good Mando name for it. So far, I've only written down some words that might make part of a good name, but nothing seems to want to work as a whole. Any ideas would be much appreciated, and I thought it could be interesting and useful for future use as well.

Thus, Jorir Kebise--Carrier of Stuff. I got Kyr'ika to name one of his ships in the Star Trek MMO that. XD I find it hilarious.

But in all seriousness: I just did this a week ago or so, to try to come up with a last/clan name to use, and did the same sort of thing--compile a list of words that seem like they'd be neat, then went through it and combined them (with some of it changing letters in the middle of words to make them sort-of punny misspellings, i.e. "retalur"-redalur being dance, and tal being blood) to get a better list, then gave it to Kyr'ika to narrow down.

Why don't you go ahead and give us the list of words you have, so we can try the same?

Does it have to be in mando'a?

-The Scuttlebutt

-Blue Milk runner

-Hunter's Gambit

-The Armored Angel

It really just depends on the background of the ship.. what accomplishments has it done? Obviously the seller would tout all sorts of feats that the ship has made. Did it outrun tie fighters? Flew through an asteroid field without a scratch? ("The rock dodger" comes to mind) or is it the kind of ship that just wouldn't get shot down? ("Shieldmaiden" or "Valkyrie" sounds good for that one).

Though some names really shouldn't be used (like Valkyrie, since technically it's an earthly word), in-universe names work really well.

-Jawa Junk (oh the pun!!)

Have fun with it, before you know it, the name has probably become an institution.

Similarly you could try to translate all the examples above in mando'a.

I ended up going with "Mesh'la Shu'shuk" - "The Beautiful Disaster." And no, it wasn't just because it's got Mesh'la in it. That just sorta happened. XD

That's not a good name for a ship... it's bad omen I tell you!!!

Ship names are tough to come by, especially if you don't know if yours will stand out among other fictional ship names. The only one I could think of, the last time I needed to name a ship, was Boom Bird.

And now it's mine. So... you can't have it.
