| Now that we've picked our favorite novels, let's narrow it down to favorite characters! I tried to make some categories as well as include single characters. Explain here who you chose!
I'm not sure who's my ultimate favorite. But I refuse to make it multiple choice!
Oh, and Legacy characters count too--Mirta Gev, Beviin, etc. :) _________________ ...mahogany.

| Niner; I have come to the conclusion that it's Niner. He's collected, lonely, responsible, burdened, and misunderstood; and that's why I like him. He's severe and quiet, and can get pushed to the wayside having to be the voice of reason and the older brother to his squad, and I just love him. <3 I wish he could be a POV again. |

| Mine goes without saying. The kid who comes off rather clumsy at first but is eager to learn and please those he admires. Then people start to notice how well he does everything he's asked and even if he's just the "prop guy" in most situations he really grew on me in Triple Zero. While he mostly stayed in the background I realized how much Kal and the Nulls relied on him to do a lot of risky stuff, going under the radar for prototype gear, covering things up by lying at Zey's face. I was amused by that one scene where he's playing some violent type of ball game with the commandos and Kal says something like "Is that blood?", then Etain asks why he wasn't using the Force. That's when I realized how much the Mandalorian culture meant to Bardan. And at the same time I decided that I liked him By the time I got through True Colors I was feeling very bad for the young Jedi as he was really being pressured from different sides. The slight clash he had with Kal ("If you want me to cover for you I need you to level with me..." ) revealed to me that the masquerade was costing him a lot, also being badly hurt by his father figure and that he had his own worries on the battlefield side (which inspired my Vevut Squad story). Needless to say I was so relieved and shocked when he told Zey he was resigning from the order and I smiled like a retard when he asked to keep his lightsaber. This was perhaps the strongest moment I've ever lived in my reading experience, I still get a little emotional when I think back to it. |

| I chose Vau because I'm a sadist! Well, I had to narrow it down to Vau or Skirata, and I literally flipped a coin. But that's not the point. So Walon is a total bad ass and he loves a strill more than anything else. I love that he's so tight-lipped because he's that much funnier when he makes a joke. I couldn't stop laughing at his lines in Order 66 when Zey asked what happened to Kal, and Walon was like "We were having a philosophical discussion, as Mandalorians often do ... so I punched him." It was just so clever and hilarious and Vau. You have to give him some credit, too, because he took a liking to Etain. WHICH NONE OF YOU DID. You're all going to hate me, but I related to Etain. Lately I've been seeing how much she needed to die (BUT POOR DARMAN ). Still, Etain--at least in the beginning--was real to me. I don't think I could take the bull by the horns in her situation, I'd be just as awkward and worthless. So I loved that while Kal didn't like her right away, Vau did and treated her like a little lady. It was cute. Tangent about Etain over. Vau. Amazing, hilarious, and a toolbox. <3 |

| I guess my beef with Etain was lack of interests and personality. I liked her character, in the sense that it was realistic to eventually come across an unconfident little gal, but the girl didn't have anything TO her. She had no interests besides Darman and didn't... think about anything. She was bland. You can be unconfident and meek without being bland. It was even worse when she got a little bit more sure of herself, because we didn't even have awkward emotional Etain. *shrug* |

| Trooooooopers!!!!
I do like Niner for pretty much the same reasons Memory said. I like Ordo because he's one step away from losing it sometimes. And I like Besany because she's cute and is probably one of the last people you could picture in armor. Buuut, I gotta go with troopers.
They're the underdogs and I have cheer for them. And I love how they all just a little different from each other. Like snowflakes.

| Kal'buir. He's like the dad I never had, but always wanted. Loving, caring, protecting, he's a good dad to his kids, all of them. Even his little Jedi girl, Etain. even though he didn't like her at first, she grew on him, and his reaction to Kad's birth is a completely different person from his reaction to Etain's pregnancy. He cares about his kids a lot, and he's a great soldier, too. He managed to make two Jedi feel like they were part of a family, even if it wasn't just him that convinced Etain that she was allowed to love and live like a normal person.
To sum it up, I think he's a super dad. |

| That's a difficult choice, but... Vau. I like the way he does his job and the way he treats people around him, especially how he teases Kal and then gives him a fortune for his boys. He's the one of the most compicated characters of the series, with this tangle of a quest for justice, arostocratism and ruthlessness on the verge of sadism. And his love for Mird is so touching. So he's defifnitely a number one for me. As for numbers two, three, four and so on, they are: Skirata (because he cares), Besany (because she's a really brave and clever person, despite her blonde appearance), Fi (because, sadly, sometimes he reminds me of myself), Etain&Darman as a couple (because they're so sweet) and Baradan Jusic (because he's the only Jedi who was bold enough to chose another path). |

| It was a difficult decision, but I had to go with Kal. He really is the quintessential Mando father who was doing his best to keep everyone going. I was like *wow* whenever I read Order 66, I thought that's where it really showed how much Kal cared about his family, despite it's unusual makeup of extremely different people who shared a similar vision. But of course, me being me, I'm not going to spend time write 5 paragraphs of the same exact thoughts you guys just summed up. |

| I have to choose Sev, I loved that character in the game. When I read Triple Zero I enjoyed it more, cause Karen Traviss really did a great job, giving Sev a more deep story and you can know more about him an his past on Kamino.
Alseo I have to choose Vau... I mean.. i'ts Walon Vau, the true Mandalorian for excellence, also in Order 66 is a great character |

| Walon Vau is my favorite for a few reasons. First, he's messed up and a Mandalorian, and I'm of the school of thought that my favorite Mandalorians are less than pure of heart but with a sense of honour, which he definitely has... in his own way. Second, he loves his pet, which speaks to me as I looked at my dog as a relative. He is kind of the only character in KT's books who is an anti-hero in a way, because at least by my understanding of it the clones can't be held accountable for being themselves and Kal Skirata is a hero for risking everything for others, and I have an affinity for anti-heroes. And also, he has class and does surprise you. |

| I second the Sev motion. I am a sucker for the sadistic characters. His antics remind me much of other characters I know and I guess I am drawn to him. Personally I didn't enjoy Triple Zero because it put a childlike quality that I never imagined him as having. But I have rolled with it and began to appreciate that we are at least getting a writer who will write about them. Hopefully his fate will be reveal soon... |

| I start this off with a laugh because I had been thinking about my favorite RepCom character for a while. Of course, those that know me figured out I'm going to say Ordo...and they're be right. But, as I thought about it more and more, it occured to me there's a few good reasons why I chose him. Well, for starters, he does remind me quite a bit of my husband, and that's why I laughed at the beginning of this post. - My husband isn't always right in the head and will glady acknowledge that fact. Ordo, just like the rest of the Nulls, certainly isn't working will a full deck.
- My husband is a former Marine; Ordo is former GAR - both are military men.
- Both of them can be quite...creative when the need arises.
- Both Ordo and my husband have their ways of showing they are super protective of those they care about.
And, I think I'll stop there with my husband/Ordo worship. No wonder I latched onto Ordo when he appeared in Triple Zero! I was reading a more advanced fantasy version of my husband!! So, as I end this post, I will continue laughing because if my husband ever stumbles onto this board and reads this post, he'll be laughing along with me. |

| OKAY TIME FOR MY SECOND FAVORITE CHARACTER. :3 Readygo! So my second favorite character... okay, it's Fi. And I know he's already super lovable and all, but he clinched it in Order 66 when he was able to make fun of his own disabilities. That takes some balls, people. Balls. And he's entertaining and annoying and he's just my favorite. I also love Parja because she's so good for him! Mara, you and your husband/Ordo is so cute! Haha I think if my boyfriend was a RepCom character, he would probably be Bardan. Green for duty. |

| Other than the troopers, I did like Besany. It was easy to identify with her because she's a civilian who got thrown into a big mess of things. She didn't really care much about the war or what was going on until she met Trooper Corr. I also like the little debates in her head like when she's asked about what her boyfriend does and she admits he's a clone despite what other people might think. She might not be running into battle with a blaster or a lightsaber, but she's very courageous.
I think it was Kal who was talking about if people knew what was going on they'd care about the clones. Besany is a great example of that. |
